Antoine Joseph Williams was born on November 24, 1975 to the late Joann Walker and Starks (Billy)
McGlory. Antoine was a good-natured child; full of laughter, always ready for fun & games.
After his mom’s untimely passing at the age of 7, he was separated from his two siblings Toya and Timmy
with whom he remained close and constant throughout his life. However, in turn, he formed a tight bond
with his dad’s nieces and nephew the “First Four (FF)” (Moshe, Antoine, Jamila, and Marsharay). The Afri-
can proverb “it takes a village” exemplified Antoine’s upbringing, having been raised by his paternal Great-
Aunt Ernestine, Aunt Cellie and Aunt Linda. While living with his Aunt Linda, he formed lifelong bonds,
with his best friend Cakey and cousin Markey. They became inseparable, and often referred to themselves
as the “Three Amigos.” Also, during this time, his Aunt Cellie would take the FF crew on various trips
across the country. These trips expanded Antoine’s horizons beyond his current environment.
Antoine attended Proviso East High School, and enjoyed playing saxophone, Home Economics class, and
running cross country track. Antoine was a good student and graduated from the Gifted Program at
Proviso East High School in 1993, and later briefly attended Grambling State University.
During his young adult years, Antoine began going to house parties and teen clubs and developed a love
for dancing. From Flight Zone to The Factory, he enjoyed a good party. It was at this time, he was given
the nickname, “Perculator” by his Fulton brothers, as this was his favorite dance and song and no one
could do the Perculator better than Antoine. He identified with it so strongly, that he got a tattoo that
said “Perculator”.
He often joked about “these hands”, because he found he did well cooking and fixing things, often taking
different appliances & electronics apart. Antoine’s interest in cooking led to him attending and graduating
from the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts-Chicago upon which he held various culinary jobs using
“these hands.”
Antoine sought financial independence always seeking various employment opportunities. Additionally, he
tried his luck with lottery tickets and scratch offs. He was very lucky and often won. Conscientious and
dedicated, Antoine did not let a lack of transportation hinder him from getting to work. He relied on his
cross-country high school experience and often traveled across the city on foot to work or visiting family
and friends.
As an adult, Antoine experienced living in many different cities around the US, from Chicagoland to Las
Vegas, NV; to Atlanta, GA and many in between. Along the journey, he found love a few times. From
those relationships, came his most precious gifts and joy. Antoine was a loving father to his three children,
Antoine Jr., Miche, and Jaloni.
Antoine departed this life on May 14, 2021 leaving a legacy of love and laughter, through his children,
grandchildren, and to all that ever knew him.
