On November 1, 1944 in Yazoo City, MS, Roosevelt Paul
Cole Sr and Albertina Victoria Cole welcomed their beautiful
baby girl, Bertha Lee Cole into their family.
Bertha accepted Christ at an early age at Christian
Grove Baptist Church and united with Old King
Solomon Baptist Church in Yazoo City, MS.
Bertha attended N.D. Taylor School, where she was
loved by anyone and everyone that knew her. She was a
loving and caring person who had a quiet spirit about her.
Bertha united in marriage to John Earl Redmond Sr. in 1964
and to this union eight children were born, seven sons and one
daughter.
Bertha is preceded in death by several family members: Her parents, Roosevelt Paul
Cole Sr and Albertina Cole; her husband, John Earl Redmond Sr.; her son, Kenneth
Redmond; her sisters, Annie B. Cole Williams and Yvonne Hendricks; brothers,
Roosevelt Paul Cole Jr. and Hubert Lee Cole.
Bertha leaves to cherish her sweet memories: Six sons and one daughter, John Jr.
(Devalon), Victor, Cassanova, Don, Marcus (Lynn), Charles and Preasie (Miguel);
brothers, John Cole Sr. (Sandy), Marc Wayne Cole of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters,
Mae Cole Smiley of Tulsa, OK, Barbara Davis (Jerrie) of Flint, MI, Donna Diabate of
Tulsa, OK, Sherry Akins (Paul Sr.) of Oklahoma City, OK and Joe Ann Cole Davis of
Crockett, TX; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews
who will miss her dearly.
