Obituary for Beverly Jean Alexander

rly Jean Alexander was born November
1, 1959 to the proud parents of James and
Jean Alexander in Chicago, Illinois. She was
the eldest child born into this union.
She professed her life to Christ and was
baptized at an early age in Paducah,
Kentucky. For the last 10 years, Beverly
was a member of the Apostolic Faith
Church on the south side of Chicago. At
the Apostolic Faith Church she served in
many capacities to support her church family and to serve God.
Beverly loved school. She attended Jones Commercial High School, where
she studied Fashion and Business Finance. Her studies afforded her the
opportunity to work part-time for Fashion Fair before she graduated in 1977.
After high school, she went to work for the Mercantile Exchange. After
several years as a bank teller, she decided to join the Chicago Police
Department. She worked tirelessly on the force as an officer and a finance
clerk before she retired after 20 years of service.
Beverly loved to travel, shop and spend time with family. During her 12 year
relationship with Lowell Henry, their pride and joy, Tristan Alexander was
born. The couple and their son spent quality time together visiting family,
exploring the country and meeting new people.
On July 17, 2020, the Lord called her home. She is now reunited with her
parents, James and Jean and her brother, Brian Alexander.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her loving son, Tristan (Sharnta) Alexan-
der; two brothers, Michael (Janice) Alexander and Kevin Alexander; six sis-
ters, Doreen Alexander, Rochelle Alexander, Robbie (Mike) Young, Latonya
(James) Gleason, Dondretta Alexander, and Brenda Alexander; two grandchil-
dren, Yasiaya and Tristan Alexander II; and a host of nieces, nephews, rela-
tives and friends
