Brenda Ann Frye was born May 4, 1948 in Goshe, AL to her father, Sammie L. Jerry Sr. and
mother Ethel Allen. Brenda was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age. She attended
Greatest Sea Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Morris. She then later attended
Harlo White Kingdom Ministries.
Brenda attended Emerson Grammar School as a young child, the later attended Lucy Flowers
High School, where she graduated in 1967.
Brenda worked numerous jobs as an adult. Her last place of employment was as a caretaker and a
laundromat attendant.
Brenda Frye made her transition at 3:50 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Rush Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by: Her husband, Jo Nathan Frye; her father, Sammie Jerry, Sr.; her
nephew, Jovan McCullough; her sister, Denise Jerry; her brother, Steven Jerry; her mother, Ethel
Jerry; and her brother, Phillip Jerry.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Martin (Nesan) and Terrence; three grand-
daughters, Laqueata, Kionna and Kia; great-grandson, Jayceon; two sisters, Emma Jerry and Bar-
bara Taylor; her brothers, Sammie Jerry Jr. and Paul Jerry; and a host of nieces, nephews, cous-
ins, friends and neighbors.
