Carol “Calvin” Gibson was born on September 13, 1945 to
Josephine Adams and Tommy Gibson in Klotzville, Louisiana. He
attended grade school and high school in Belle Rose, LA.
Calvin was drafted into the United States Army in 1965. He
served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on
November 17, 1967.
Calvin met and married Patricia Foxx and to this union two
children were born, Talvin and Danielle. Calvin worked various
jobs while living in both Louisiana and Texas. He and his family
later relocated to Chicago, IL in 1978. Calvin worked various jobs
in Chicago as well, until becoming employed at Rush Oak Park
Hospital in 1986, where he remained until retiring in 2016.
He is preceded in death by: Both of his parents; brothers, Lloyd,
Junius, Earl, Tommy, Isaac and Charles; and sisters, Rebecca and
Mary Jane.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Two sons, Talvin (Telisa) and
Calvin (Jenny); one daughter, Danielle; four grandsons, Talvin II,
Isaiah, Deon II and Oscar; one granddaughter, Laila; sisters,
Dorothy and Rosalie; one brother, Eddie; and a host of family and
friends.
