Obituary for Charles Gipson

Charles Edward Gipson was born to Erma Banks on January 13, 1966 in
Chicago, IL. At a young age, Charles was raised by his loving mother and
stepfather Charles Banks on the westside of Chicago.
Charles was a very ambitious, smart and intelligent child. He attended
Shepard Elementary School, Manley High School and Malcom X College.
Charles loved dancing, known as a dancing machine (like Michael Jack-
son). He also was a comedian he could make anyone laugh.
As a child, Charles had a strong work ethic. At the age of twelve he
worked at a candy store. Later on he worked at a car wash, landscaping
and A&R Security where he worked twenty-six years and became
supervisor.
He loved praising the Lord. He attended Emanuel C.O.G.I.C. on 3058 W.
Van Buren Street, Chicago, Illinois.
He’s preceded in death by: His stepfather, Charles Banks and son, Parish
DeShawn Carter-Gipson.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His loving wife, Helen of thirty years;
Children, Charles Edward Gipson Jr. and Fantasia Gipson; seventeen
grandchildren; his loving mother, Erma Banks; four brothers, Gregory
(Laura), William (Samanthia), Reggie (Lucinda) and Lashun; one sister,
Tamika Banks; two uncles, Lee (Bobbie) and Melvin (Maxine); and a host
of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Charles was loved by many. He is
dancing on cloud nine.
We won’t say bye, we’ll say, in a minute. We love you Charles always.
