Obituary for David Cusic

David Cusic was the fifth child born to James and Catherine Cusic on
October 12, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois. Both of his parents preceded him
in death.
David accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Friendship
Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Shelvin Jerome Hall.
At Friendship, David sang in the Young Adult Choir, the Church Men
Choir and CIC. He was also a member of Operation Push Choir for many
years.
David matriculated through the Chicago Public School system. He
attended and graduated from John M. Smyth Elementary School and
Cregier High School. He also attended Washburne Trade School for Auto
Mechanic.
David worked at Blue Star Auto Store for many years as an Auto
Mechanic. He also worked at Lehal as a painter for several years. Lastly,
he worked at Pyramind West as a Custodian for many years, until he re-
tired from there.
David enjoyed fishing, cooking, barbecuing and collecting novelties. He
truly loved his family time. David loved his pastor, church members and
many friends. His favorite saying was “Who you wit”.
At 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021, David made his transition
from labor to reward. He will be truly missed.
David is preceded in death by: His parents; and four siblings, Melvin
Cusic, Arlene Cusic, Darlene Cusic and Barbara Cusic.
David leaves to cherish his memory: One brother, Reverend Albert Cusic
(Margo); five sisters, Sandra Pettis, Julietta Smith (Amos), Beverly Cusic;
Jeanette Cusic (Tyrone Butcher) and Deborah Cusic; and a host of other
nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
