Obituary for Deborah Parker

Deborah “Debra” Parker was born on October 18th, 1953 to her mother Cathe-
rine Martin-Parker. Debra was called home May 18th, 2021 to join in union
with her mother Catherine and Sister Karen. Debra was the second child out of
her eleven siblings. Growing up and well into her adult life Debra always kept to
herself. She loved her family and close friends dearly. To know Debra, was to love
the person she was. She always was real and told you how she felt about you,
even if it hurt your feelings. Debra opened up her heart, arms, and home to many
of her relatives and a host of her children’s friends and their families.
Debra grew up in Chicago, Illinois where she was raised alongside her brothers
and sister raised by their mother Catherine. With Debra being the second oldest
and the first girl she was like a second mother to her younger siblings. Debra
started her education at Gregory Elementary School and then continued at Mar-
shall High School where she was on the Majorette team. After high school Debra
went to work at Hammond Organ alongside her mother. She later went on to
start a career in Retail Services working at Value City Clothing and Furniture, as
well as Burlington Coat Factory.
In her lifetime, Debra enjoyed having nights out with her siblings and friends. She
enjoyed going to the casino with her sister Karen, and giving wise advice on how
to navigate through life when needed to her loved ones, and helping take care of
others.
