Obituary for Dedri Lynn Steele

Dedri Lynn Steele was born on July 17, 1958, to Stevenson Spiller and
Genevie Kyle whom both have proceeded her in death. Dedri was their
only child born to this union.
Dedri accepted Christ at an early age. Dedri attended a private elemen-
tary school where she graduated and went on to Carter Henry Harrison
Technical High School located in Chicago, Illinois. Dedri graduated from
Carter Henry Harrison Technical High School.
On December 6, 1975, Dedri married the love of her life Earnest Steele
Jr. who also proceed her in death. Through this union their beautiful
and only child Tamica Q. Steele was born.
Dedri was one of God’s Angels on earth. Dedri had a hard battle with
cancer in which she won triumphantly with the help of her mother, her
daughters and God.
Dedri loved helping people. She worked at Jesse Spalding School for
children with disabilities for over 20 years. She then went on to train to
receive her Home Care Certification. After receiving her certification
Dedri worked for Home Watch Caregivers. She also took the role of
helping family members and people who were in need of their loved
ones who needed care until she became ill herself.
Dedri leaves to cherish her memory: Her loving daughters, Tamica Q.
Steele and Deaudra L. Steele; her stepsons, Gerrick Burns (Wanda) and
Lance Caldwell (Aisha); her brother, Steve Spiller Sr. (Gail); her sisters,
Schzelle Spiller-Harris (Jerry), Zenobia Spiller and Artisha Ellis; her God-
daughters, LaKenya Arnold, Brianna Courts and Chantell Beal; her best
friends, Dot and Tina; and a host of aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces,
nephews, cousins and close friends.
