Diane Avant-McNutt was born on November 25, 1948 in
Tunica, MS to her parents Mildred and James Avant, who
preceded her in death.
Diane transitioned her way to Chicago in the early 60’s
where she completed her education and began her work
history at Mount Sinai Hospital. She worked there for over
forty years. During this time, Diane gave birth to two
sons, Kenneth and Keith Avant. In her later years, she met
and married Clarence McNutt who preceded her in death.
Diane transitioned into Holy Eternity on June 26, 2021 at
2:00 p.m., joining her husband, mother, father and three
brothers.
Diane leaves behind to mourn: Two sons, Kenneth and
Keith; four grandchildren, Shawnice Starling, Keith Ford,
Demetric Starling and Sherie M. Spencer; her four sisters,
Michelle Avant (Clemmie Trotter Jr.), Connie Avant, Gerri
Woods and Cassandra L. Avant-Williams (Lawson Williams
III); and a host of nieces and nephews
