Donald Rivers Sr. was born August 28, 1955, in Chicago, to
Augustus and Ernestine Rivers. He was the third of four siblings,
Tony, Benjamin and Issac. His parents and his brothers, Issac and
Benjamin, all preceded him in death.
Donald accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at IBC
Seventh Day Adventist. Donald graduated from Shiloh High School.
He also attended Malcolm X Community College. Donald worked
various jobs, but he worked for Priscilla’s Soul Food Restaurant for
many years until he couldn't work anymore. Donald enjoyed watch-
ing movies and comedies; he was also a huge sports fanatic and
liked fishing.
In 1982 Donald joined in holy matrimony with Faye Adams. Out of
that union came Olandas Adams and Donald L. Rivers. Donald's
mother became very ill, and he spent a lot of time taking care of her
until the Lord delivered her to rest. Shortly after, Donald met
Bernice Wright, who became the love of his life, and through this
union, he inherited another family; Angela, Albert, Selena, and
Christina.
Donald became very sick, and he fought for years until he couldn't
anymore. On February 21, 2021, at 2:30 a.m., surrounded by
loved ones, God delivered him to rest.
He loved spending time with his family, and he leaves behind a host
of relatives and friends.
