Dorothy Orr was born on October 21, 1935 in Dumas,
Arkansas to the late Rosetta and Troy.
Dorothy attended Selma Public School of Winchester, Arkansas
and Crane High School of Chicago, Illinois.
Dorothy confessed Christ at an early age. Upon moving to
Chicago, IL, she continued her path in Christ under the leader-
ship of Evangelist Charles E. Myers. As Dorothy grew in
Christ, she joined Sweet Kingdom Missionary Baptist Church,
under the leadership of Pastor P. Dixon.
Dorothy worked at Methode Electronics for many years. In
1971, Dorothy became employed at GE Electronics until she
retired in 1988.
Dorothy made her transition on March 16, 2021 at home
surrounded by her loving family.
She is preceded in death by: Daughters, Theodosia Wimbley
and Carolyn Ann Allen; three brothers, Cleveland Jones,
Adolph Oates and Troy Lee Jr; and two sisters, Mary Owens
and Diana Myles.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her loving memory: Her sister, Azzie
Lee McGee of McGehee, AR; brother, Ralph Oates of Chicago,
IL; her five children, Vernon Trotter of Tucson, AZ, Nathaniel
Allen of Phoenix, AZ, Janice (James) Gaston of Bellwood, IL,
Darlene Allen and Gary Allen of Chicago, IL; Godson, Alvin
Hughes of South Holland, IL; three generations of grand-
children and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
