Dorothy Mae Winston began life on February 21, 1945 in Yazoo City,
Mississippi Dorothy was the third child of seven children born to Mary
and Wesley Johnson both preceded her in death.
Dorothy accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. The
family migrated from Yazoo City to Chicago when Dorothy was very
young. Once she finished high school, she began her certified nursing
assistant career from which she retired after 30 years of caring for others.
While living in Chicago, Dorothy met and married Ervin Winston Jr. who
preceded her in death.
Dorothy was blessed with three children; Joseph Antonio Logan who
preceded her in death, Ervin Winston III (Shirley Ann) and Antionette
Winston-Irvin (Danny).
Dorothy lived in Chicago until she was called home on September 28,
Anyone who was blessed to know Dorothy a.k.a. Dot, DD, GG could tell
you many stories about her quick wit, her awesome comebacks, and her
sassy attitude towards life. But they would never leave out how quickly
she was ready to come to the aid of others even if she had to include
some spicy words and tough love, they could definitely count on her
showing up and showing out. (In the name of love).
Dorothy is preceded in death by: Her mother and father; her son; and her
two older brothers, Oliver Logan Jr. and Willie C. Logan.
Dorothy is survived by: Her children, Antionette and Ervin; two sisters,
Diane Pyatt (Steve), Beatrice Dawson (Eugene); one brother, Ricky
Johnson (Jackie); a special niece, LaQuienta Davis, three grandchildren,
Mykhail, Kalynn and Jaylen; three great grandchildren, Khalil, Paityn and
Greyson; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
