Obituary for Elworth Prentiss Jr.

Elworth L. Prentiss Jr. (Duck) was born at 7:40 p.m. on Monday, June 7,
1965 at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes Hospital. He was born to the proud
parents of Essie L. Salmon and Elworth L. Prentiss Sr.

Duck attended Robert Emmet Elementary School, then went on to further his
education at John Marshall High School where he received his diploma. He
also attended a trade school in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Duck attended many Churches in the neighborhood in which he lived and
studied many faiths and found his home in the religion of Islam.

Duck worked at Motorola for many years as a young man. There after, he
held many other jobs.

Our beloved brother departed his life and is now living eternally with our
heavenly father. He was intelligent, free spirited and full of life. He was a jack
of all trades, a handyman and he worked on cars.

Duck was a friend to many and a stranger to none. He loved his family and
loved being around family. His personality was awesome, always smiling and
had an infectious laugh.

Duck was always willing to help others, no matter how small or large the
task. He loved to dress and would often tell you he was going to be clean,
especially if a family function was coming up. He would always greet you with
a hug and a kiss when he entered a room and end it with the same. He would
never say “Goodbye” but would say “I’ll see you later”.
