Obituary for Emily Walker

Emily Elizabeth Walker was born on November 10, 1950, in Marion, Alabama. She was
the youngest child of two born to Bently and Catherine (Griffin) Nemo.
Following her birth, her parents returned to Chicago. The family resided on the West side
in the Douglas Park Neighborhood. Emily was baptized at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church
at an early age. Emily attended Herzl Elementary School and Hess Upper Grade Center. She
graduated from Farragut High School.
As an adult, Emily worked at Spiegel, Northern Trust Bank, and Parkside Bank. She also
worked for Northeast Austin Organization as a back-to-school program director and The
Public Guardian office. After some years down the line, she trained to become a nurse’s
assistant and worked at a nursing home before she retired. Also, she was one of the Found-
ers of Midwest Professional Empire Family LLC. Which her daughter is the Ceo.
Even though Emily suffered a stroke, she did not let her disability stop her from enjoying
life.
Emily loved fashion and also loved to travel with friends. A few months before her death
she was able to enjoy a trip to Martha’s Vineyard in Rhode Island.
Emily was called home on January 15, 2022.
Emily is preceded in death she by her parents and her Aunt Dot who also helped raise her.

Nemo; nephew Jason (Tasha) Nemo, great nephew Jason Nemo Jr., great niece Taryn

friends.
