Emma worked many jobs in her lifetime but her main career choices consisted of teacher’s

mother and father, sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, and neighbors. If anyone had a
need she was more than willing to help with no questions asked. She was a lover of people and
would help any and everyone. She always had a smile on her face and words of encouragement
to anyone who needed it. She was highly respected for her compassion. She was an outstanding
cook.
The second joy of her life were her grandchildren: Kenya, Larnell Jr., Lashonda, Steven, Loretta,
Nieka. She had a special bond with her grandchildren and she was the love of their life. They
marveled at her strength, her abilities, her cooking skills, and they were there to soak up every
piece of knowledge, advice and story time she had to offer. Her grandchildren that were right
by her side through her good and bad times and always obedient: Randy Jr, Shekira, Tyler, Dion
Jr, Djimon, Tatiana, Quinn, Justin, Jasmine and Jack Jr.
She called her daughter-in-law Barbara McKnight her daughter; she loved her dearly and
Barbara was helpful in caring for her during her time of need. Her ex daughter-in-law, Mattie
Henderson helped her on many occasions and she was very fond of her as well.
