Janet Loretta Anderson was born to Mary West Anderson
Cooper and Harrison Anderson on October 18, 1947 in
Chicago, IL. She attended catholic elementary school and
graduated from Farragut High School in 1965.
Janet entered into Holy Matrimony to Everette Austin on
December 19, 1964 in Chicago, IL. To this union two
children were born, Anita and Everette Jr, who both pre-
ceded her in death. She remarried in the late 1970s to
James Legg, whom also preceded her in death.
Janet was employed at Interstate Fireman's Fund for
twenty-four years before her retirement. After retirement,
Janet held other jobs; as a Certified Notary, Sears Sales
Associate and computer teacher at Oak Park Resident
Corp. at the time of her departure.
Janet (Granny) departed this life on June 12, 2021 at
7:00 a.m. peacefully.
She leaves to mourn her departure: Two daughters, Janet
Loretta Harkness (Reggie Harkness) and Sabrina Renee
McGraw (Dion McGraw); five grandchildren, Amber
McGraw, Everett Harkness, William Harkness Jr., Anita
McGraw, Saniya Harkness; two great grandchildren, Zoe
McGraw and Nova Harkness; three sisters and four broth-
ers, all of whom preceded her in death; three Godchildren,
Terrence Strong, Ella Geater and Tamaica Francis; plus a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and
friends.
