Jenell Windham Brown was born in Raleigh, Mississippi to the late Albert and Lucille
Windham Barnes.
Jenell attended school in Mississippi. At a young age, Jenell moved to Chicago, IL.
Jenell worked at St. Francis Hospital. In 1980, Jenell was united in matrimony to Otis
Brown.
Jenell was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 21, 1985. Jenell
served as a faithful publisher at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at
5540 W. Division St., Chicago, IL, 60651.
Jenell was loved by her family and enjoyed every moment with her children, grand-
children, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
On Thursday, February 27, 2020 Jenell passed away at her residence. Jenell is
preceded in death by: Her husband, Otis Brown; her mother, Lucille Barnes; her father,
Albert Barnes; her sister, Lessie McCormick; three brothers, John Billy Windham,
Vermon Windham and Levester Windham; stepdaughter, Sandra Brown; and stepson
Otis Lee Brown Jr.
Jenell leaves to cherish her memories: Her son, Melvin Windham of GA; Stepdaughter,
Sharon Brown of Chicago, IL; her sister, Gayle Barnes; her brother, Sylvester Windham;
six grandchildren, Shaundra (Shamtil) Burks, Tasheta, Le Otis, Shantee, Angelica and
Stephanie; ten great grandchildren, Frederick, Jayvon, Tyler, Sanai, Le Otis Jr., Aja,
Nyle, Diamond, Briana and Shaheem; and a host of relatives and friends.
