Obituary for Johnie Halton

Mr. Johnie Halton was born July 28, 1932 to the late Hal &Hilma Halton in
Bay Springs, Jasper County, MS. He was one of six sons from their union. He
moved to Chicago, IL in the early 1950’s, where he met Ms. Louvenia Brown.
They were married on May 26, 1963 in Cook County.
From their union they had 5 beautiful daughters. Melva Jean, Sylvia, Everda,
Linnie and Lela. He did the unthinkable and raised his daughters as a single
father and watched them blossom from young girls to beautiful women of
today.
Later in life he met Ms Bert Jones, and with her they had 5 wonderful
children, Margaret, Monica, Janice, Terry and Mark Anthony.
Johnie was a force of nature. He became an entrepreneur determined to
provide for his family and he provided a life they deserved. He was a Master
Mason of the Grand Lodge for years. He was an expert with any job he did.
All his skills he instilled into his children and grandchildren. Throughout his
journey, he has left a true legacy because he accomplished so much in his life,
while wearing many hats. His family meant more to him than anything else in
the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of his
children and always supported them.
Anyone who knew Johnie Halton knew that he was the most loving father a
family could ever ask for. Johnie is predeceased by: His father, Hal Halton; his
mother, Hilma Halton; his brothers, Russell Halton, L.B. Halton, Leonard
