Yosef Israel (Joseph Campbell) began his rest on Sunday, October 10,
2021. Yosef was born on August 3, 1955 to Sylvester and Bessie
Campbell on the Westside of Chicago. He graduated from Gage Park
High School in 1973. Yosef showed his bravery by enlisting in the
United States Army, where he served for four years on the front lines
of Infantry. After fulfilling his commitment to the USA, he began his
career as a Clerk for the Cook County Circuit Court where he worked
diligently for 23 years. During his time with the court, he became life-
long friends with Rosie Shanklin.
Yosef Israel married his beloved wife Yoseffah (Sabrina Campell) in
June of 2004. The couple birthed two children, Zelena (15) and
Zakyle (13). Yosef was a great father, husband, brother, and friend.
Watching wrestling matches with his son, barbecuing with family and
friends, and playing with his grandchildren were some of Joseph's
favorite pastimes. Yosef’s eyes were opened to the truth in 2013
when he started watching IUIC videos. He learned his true nationality
of being an Israelite, and that he descends from the tribe of Judah. He
became a member of Israel United In Christ - Chicago Camp in 2015.
From that time forward he would learn and fellowship regularly with
his spiritual family. Due to a decline in health, he was no longer able
to attend the school on the Sabbath days, but continued to show his
faith by watching classes online.
Yosef is preceded in death by: His parents, Sylvester and Bessie Camp-
bell; his brother, Kenneth Butch Campbell; and his lifelong friend,
Lionel Duckworth.
Matthew 15:24 KJV
But he answered and said, I was not sent but unto the lost sheep
of the house of Israel.
