Judith Ann Mitchell was born April 11, 1960 to the
parents of Emma and Nathaniel Mitchell. Both parents
preceded her in death.
Judith was the youngest of three; her brother, Nathaniel
Mitchell Jr. (who preceded her in death) and her brother,
Joseph Mitchell Sr.
Judith went to Hess Elementary and from there she went
to Manley High School, where she graduated. Judith furthered her education by
attending Harold Washington, where she received her degree in Early Child
Development. After receiving her degree, Judith worked as a pre-school teacher for
the YMCA until she retired. Judith’s passion was teaching, she loved her job.
Judith accepted Christ as her Savior in the early eighties at Gospel Mission, under
Pastor Edwards, followed by Pastor Carolyn Fair and Pastor Sharon Williams.
Judith leaves to cherish: One daughter, Maryann Mitchell; one brother, Joseph
Mitchell, Sr; two grandsons, Jeremiah Eason and Artease Eason; two great-
grandsons, Carter Eason and Artease Eason, Jr.; three nephews, Joseph Mitchell,
Jr., Warren Anderson and Dimeon Anderson; two Godchildren, Chauntae Edwards
and Seth Fracter; and a host of cousins, family and friends.
