Obituary

Julia P. Morris was born on Sunday, April 7, 1940 in Jones
Alabama, the baby girl of three children born to the union
of Calvin and Pinkie Parker.
Julia professed a hope in Christ and was blessed and
christened as a child. Julia was an active member of the
Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership
of Pastor Kenneth L. Scott, until she fell ill the latter part
of 2008.
Julia attended Autauga County Training where she earned
her Associates Degree in business management. One of
her favorite sayings was “My Momma did send me to
college”.
Julia worked as a switchboard operation at the Drexel Hotel
for many years before she found her career at Sheet Metal Workers Local 73 on April 2, 1972, where
she worked as pension coordinator until she retired in May of 2005. After retiring she went into full
Grandma mode and raised her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Julia was very outspoken, if you needed the truth ask Mrs. Morris, she gone let you know in the raw.
Julia loved to sew, plant flowers and keep her block clean. She was proud to be a homeowner “831 is
where I pay the mortgage” or “take me to 831”. Julia would give you the shirt off her back and never
looked for anything in return. Moving a refrigerator, stove or even a washing machine was a job she
would still do in her 70’s. Julia was most definitely an independent woman of God.
A Beloved mother, grandmother and friend. On August 13, 2020 about 2:30 am at her residence Julia
was called to her permanent home, where she won’t hurt or want anymore.
Julia is preceded in death by: Her parents, Calvin and Pinkie Parker, brother Calvin Parker; husband,
Lawrence Morris; daughter, Marsha Wouldfolk; and granddaughter, Julia Wouldfolk.
Julia leaves to cherish: Her sister, Lucy Agnew (Florida); three sons, Otis (Lashon), Roderick and Cedric
(Delores); two daughters, Wasonya and Gwendolyn (Keenan); eighteen grandchildren, Andreco, Pierre,
Raven, Eric (Arionna), Paige, Cedric, Zachary, Deja (Lee), Dimitri, Deanta, Terrence, Kierra, Nyche,
Keenan Jr., Kyrie and Kamarionte, Andre and Devin; thirteen great-grandchildren; Godmother, Rosemary
Chavis; three Godchildren, Anita, Jennifer and Darris; and a host of other relatives and friends
