Larence “Bolo” Reese Sr. was born in
Chicago IL on March 12, 1977 to his
parents, Theresa Howard and Sylvester
Reese. Larence was the youngest of
three kids. His mother Theresa Howard
and father Sylvester Reese both
preceded him in death.
Larence Sr. grew up on the westside of
Chicago, where he attended Chicago Public
Schools. Although school was important, at an early age Larence
decided to focus on his passion, his music. Larence could always be
seen writing lyrics on whatever paper he could find. He was an
amazing lyricist. Everyone can attest he had a way with words.
He never let anything including his chair stop him from getting his
music out there. His talent allowed him to meet and work with some
top names in the music industry. Pretty soon everyone in Chicago
knew Gorilla Bo. That is just the type of person Larence was, he
always did what he believed in.
Larence Sr. attended New Hope Baptist Church where he accepted
the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior. Everyone knew Larence as a
jokester, the life of every gathering. He was always there to make
you smile and kept you laughing. Just looking through the moments
of his life in pictures, you can see his fun and full of life spirit. He
had a heart of gold and would give his last to see his family happy.
To Larence family was everything and there were no limits he would
go to make sure his family was protected and cared for. Larence is
probably one of the realest people you will ever know. He was a go
getter, very outspoken, and a very loyal husband, father, brother,
uncle, cousin, and friend.
Larence Sr. leaves to cherish his memories: His wife, Tina Reese;
