Leroy (affectionately called Boogaloo) was born on July 16, 1966 in Newark New, Jersey
to Leroy H. Hazelwood and Earline Clark.
Leroy accepted Christ and was faithful member of Reborn Community Church under the
leadership of Pastor Jamie Thompson. Leroy had a lot of faith and trust in God.
Leroy loved people, especially his family. He loved life and he lived to love.
Leroy attended Grand School, Crane and Westinghouse. He also attended Malcom X Col-
lege.
Leroy quietly departed this life on June 19, 2020. He is preceded in death by: His father,
Leroy Hazelwood and nephew, Ramahd.
Leroy leaves to mourn: His loving mother, Earline; one sister, Rayna (Abshalom) and her
children, Amarae and Ayanna; two brothers, Marcus L. Hazelwood (Sharon) and his chil-
dren Steven, Tunita and Elyse Hazelwood; Daylen Hazelwood and his children, Deangelo,
Deante, Pharoah and Zahrie; and a host of other nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and
friends.
You gave no one a last farewell, nor ever said goodbye. You were gone before we
knew it, and only God knows why. A million times we will miss you, a million times
we will cry. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we
loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place no one else
could fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went
with you the day God took you home.
We will meet again someday. Aside these worldly cares. Just know until the
time we do, in my heart you’re always there.
