Obituary for Moses Hyles Jr.

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile, If only I could
have you back for just a little while. Then we sit and talk again just like we
used to do; You always meant so very much and always will do too.
The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain,
But you’re forever in my heart until we meet again.
~Love, Patricia
Moses Hyles, Jr. (lovingly known as “Bay Bay” or “Big Mo”) was born on September 11, 1956 in
Chicago, Illinois to the union of Moses, Sr. and Ninner Hyles. Both preceded him in death.
Moses received his education from the Chicago Public Schools graduating in 1975 from Cregier
Vocational High School. He never took a particular trade in school, but was knowledgeable in fixing
all kind of things. His passion was basketball and he loved playing on Cregier’s basketball team.
Moses accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church
under the leadership of Pastor W. D. Kirkland. There he served as a Junior Usher and a member of
Sunday School.
Moses’ employment took him in various directions throughout his working career; from Driving Cab,
Stewart and Warren and Cook County Hospital where he had the pleasure of working with his mother.
Moses’ favorite hobby was playing basketball (until his health failed) and watching the Bulls. He also
enjoyed spending time with his family.
Moses departed this life on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 11:55 p.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital. He was
looking forward to fulfilling his special dreams he had for the future.
Moses leaves to cherish his memory: Two daughters, Tyeisha and Marquita Easter; three extended
sons, Carlos, Tyrese and Johnell Easter; three sisters, Shirley Williams, Brenda Hyles and Gloria Hayes;
one brother, Willie Hyles (two brothers preceded him in death Oscar Lewis and Milton Hyles); sixteen
grandchildren (two deceased Yvette and Husian); seven great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Gayle
Lewis; three aunts, Pernella Pugh, Ardella Hayes and Alice Hayes; a long time special friend, Patricia
Wardlow; three nieces, Gwendolyn, Tyeasa and Daneshia; four nephews, Maurice, Arkles, Lamar, and
Brian; a host of cousins other relatives and friends.
He will truly be missed!
