Obituary for Patricia Liddell

On October 10, 1957 Patricia Denise Liddell was born to the parents of Deloris
and Willie Liddell. Her parents preceded her in death. Patricia was the youngest
of two children.
At the young age of 4, Patricia started kindergarten at Jacob Beidler Elementary
School. She continued her education as a middle schooler at J Sterling Morton
Upper Grade Center. She later transferred to Robert Emett Elementary School
and there she graduated.
Her high school career began at Austin High School. She later transferred to Oak
Park and River Forest High School. Her high school career ended there. While in
high school Patricia became an avid sports fan. She often enjoyed attending foot-
ball and basketball games.
Patricia was a Boys Mom in the real sense of the word. Not because she had four
sons and no girls. She was a boy’s mom because of the relationship with her
children. She watched sports with them. She made bar b q meals for them. Some-
times she even wore the same sports attire as her sons did.
One thing that Pat liked to do was cook. Her food was delicious. Her Sunday
dinners were the best. The menu was often fried chicken, greens, cornbread and
macaroni and cheese.
Pat took her culinary skills to work. For help with special occasion orders she
worked at Laurie’s Bakery in Oak Park, IL. Her coworkers appreciate her love
and passion for cooking. They were always happy to see her when she returned
to work.
Patricia attended Christ Temple Cathedral Church of Christ Holiness. It was there
that she accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. There she served in the
youth choir, on the usher board, the Young Women’s Christian association and
of course the culinary arts ministry.
On Wednesday September 16, 2020 at 10 p.m. Patricia left Illinois Masonic
Hospital to be with the Lord. She will truly be missed by many.
Patricia leaves to mourn her passing: Four sons, Artis Liddell, Jamaal Liddell,
Gerard Liddell and Willie Liddell; five grandchildren, Layanii Scott, Shanti Liddell,
Jaylen Liddell, Jayanii Liddell and Jamaal Liddell; one sister, Pamela Gardner; one
