Hello everyone, my name is
Phyllis Elaine Harmon Gibson,
just wanted to take a moment
to tell you a little bit about
myself. I was born on September
30th, in Avalon, Mississippi. I am
the first of five children. My parents
were Frank and Lillie Harmon.
My family and I relocated to Chicago, Illinois in 1957 and twelve
years after that I decided to dedicate my life to Jehovah by water
baptism on October 4, 1969, after being taught Bible Truths. I
attended Crane High School and later transferred to Wells High
School where I graduated in 1972. Like any other young lady, I
thought about it and decided I wanted to get married, so I married
Robert L. Gibson on December 23, 1972.
I worked for Rush Presbyterian Hospital for many years as an ECG
Technician and later worked for Mercy Hospital as an ECG Technician
as well. I chose this line of work because I enjoy working with people.
I’ve always enjoyed working with people and for that reason I
became a Regular Pioneer in 1981 and have served as one, thanks to
Jehovah even while ill. One of my favorite scriptures is 2 Timothy 4:5
“You, though, keep your senses in all things, endure hardship, do the
work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.” After 17
years of marriage, to my surprise I started a family. The result of this
surprise was, that we had Rashawn (ask my family about that one,
another way to make you smile) and then came Patrick. I enjoyed
preaching, traveling and spending time with my family. Watching
them grow physically, as well as spiritually. And from this growth, I
gained a daughter-in-law Parvaneh.
As many of you may know, one of my most enjoyable pass times was
Skating. I also enjoyed Sewing, Cooking, Decorating, and I was also
able to start doing as a business something which I loved so much,
Floral Arrangements and Wedding/Event Decorating. Another one of
my many passion’s, was that of being with my family and friends.

Not to mention, my helping others to learn about Jehovah. Those of
you close to the family know that I was affectionately known as
“Blucy”, I know that my family will love telling you how I came to
be given that name. Ask them, this will help you to smile as well as
them. I want all of you to know that I truly appreciate all that you
did for me and my family during the time of my illness. You may have
helped us out before my illness, and I thank you.
I thoroughly appreciate all the prayers, hugs, cards, flowers, phone
calls, text messages, visits, gifts, balloons, plants and all the food
that was prepared to help us during this time. You were a great
support and help to me and my family and I want to personally thank
you and tell you that I love you all. I look forward to seeing ALL of
you in the New World, Jehovah has written my name in his Book of
Remembrance.
For those of you that I have had the opportunity of sharing the
wonderful hope that Jehovah promises with, you know that I am
only asleep. For those of you that I have not gotten a chance to
speak with don’t worry about me. I am resting until Jehovah awakens
me from my deep sleep, healthy and ready to get back to work. If
you would like to know more about these wonderful things that
Jehovah promises, just speak to any of my family or one of Jehovah’s
Witnesses. They will be more than happy to share with you my hope.
Then you’ll be able to see me in the New World when I come back all
healthy.
I have to go now, but know that I love all of you with all my heart
and I look forward to seeing you all again real soon. My health failed
me and so I fell asleep in death on Wednesday, February 26, 2020.
I leave to cherish my memories: my loving husband, Robert L. Gibson,
