Obituary for Rebecker Willis

Rebecker Willis was born on March 20, 1936 in Cascilla, MS to Mary Eve and Cornelius
Jones. She was one of four siblings, Mary Sue, John L and Josephine. Her parents and siblings
all preceded her in death.
Rebecker’s education began in Mississippi where she graduated from high school. She later
met Arthur Willis and the two were married. To this union four children were born.
Rebecker accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Later in her life, she
joined Heritage International Christian under the leadership of Minister Dwight Gunn in
Chicago IL.
Rebecker worked at Beltone Electronics, making hearing aids for 40 years, until she retired.
Later in life she became a home care provider.
Rebecker loved to enjoy herself, she loved dancing, going out to eat and just being around
family. She even bowled on a league with her daughter, Geraldine. Rebecker would go out
and do her daily walks, if you asked her what’s up, she’d say “everything’s going down”.
Rebecker moved back to Chicago from Jacksonville, IL four and a half years ago. She spent
her time at Mayfield and Pershing Gardens Nursing Home, her last two years there she was
unable to walk very well, using a wheelchair to stay active.
Rebecker departed this life on September 14, 2020. She lived a good life and is now at peace.
Her memories will be cherished by: Her children, Geraldine Moore (James), Michael Willis
(Shirley), Joyce Willis (Jimmy) and Donnell Willis (who preceded her in death); ten
grandchildren, Ivan (Lajuan), Demond (Cherry), Kia (Fred), Marcus (Leticia), Shevita, Willie,
Monica, Veronica, Jimmy Jr, Lachance (Amanda) and Gharaldo; 13 great grandchildren and
one great-great-grandchild; special friend, Mary Hudson; and a host of family and friends
