Mr. ST Gladney was born November 29, 1929 to the late Robert Gladney
and Annie White Gladney in Jonestown, Mississippi.
ST accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. He attended St. Luke Missionary
Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. E. N. Jude.
On April 14, 1956 ST was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Reverend
Earlene Perry Gladney. ST attended Greater Galilee M.B. Church under the
late Rev. T. A. Clark. He also attended First Baptist Church under the late
Rev. Arthur D. Griffin.
ST Gladney worked for Chicago Housing Authority for thirty-one years.
He retired in 1991.
ST enjoyed the company of all his nieces, nephews, and friends, whether
it be a visit or a call. He really enjoyed the company of Waddell and Wayne
Gladney and he loved Maxwell Street polishes. He also loved the outdoors,
especially being in the sun, which he always said made him feel good.
ST Gladney departed from this life on August 16, 2019. he is preceded in
death by: His wife, Rev. Earlene Gladney; and all of his siblings, Waddell
Gladney, Ruth Foster, Sally Baggett, Ezell Gladney, Robert Gladney and
Marie Jackson.
ST leaves to mourn his homegoing: His loving children, Mary Brown, Regina
Gladney Brown (Jimmy J. Brown), Renee Gladney, Donna G. Gladney
(Reggie Lamb) and granddaughter, Shalawn Houston (Vernell Davis); great-
granddaughter, Anaya Cejaj; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and
longtime friends.
