Obituary for Francine

Veronica Francine Walker was born on April 5, 1954 to George and Annie Walker in
Chicago, IL. She departed this life on September 4, 2019 at 2:45 p.m.

Veronica was a kind, amazing and loving mother who gave her life to Christ at an early
age. For the past several years she has been under the fellowship of Pastor Ronald
Wilks of soul Saving M.B. Church. There she served as an usher.

Veronica attended Austin High School from 1968-1972 and received her high school
diploma.

Veronica was a dedicated and hard working woman who worked for Federal Mogul of
Skokie, IL, in the management field. She caught the bus everyday to get to the night
shift. She then retired in 2018, after more than 27 years with the company.

Veronica was also known as Francine or “Cine”. She was very athletic in her younger
years. She loved to joke and laugh with her grandchildren and being around family and
friends. She loved to dance, jump double dutch and most of all, playing music while
she cleaned her home. Veronica was also a great cook. She was a caring woman who
would give the shirt off her back, open her doors to family and friends… but don’t
cross her or she would tell you about yourself.

Veronica was loved by many and she will be truly missed. She is preceded in death
by: Her father, George Walker; brother, Michael; and a sister, Charmayne. Veronica
leaves to cherish her memories: Three sons, Leroy (Stacey) Young, Antwan (Letitia)
Walker and Charles Cooks; her mother, Annie Cooper; three brothers, Daniel (Marlene)
Walker, Julius (Lisa) Freeman Walker and Juan Walker; one sister, Crystal; one uncle,
Alvin Walker; two aunts, Leonora Johnson and Louette Ligon; seven grandchildren,
Antwan Jr, Maurice, Trevyonne, Nasir, Lia, Nia and Amber; two great-grandchildren,
D’Marryanna and Malachi; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
You are the other mother I received the day I wed your son.
I want to thank you mom for all that you have done. For giving me this
wonderful man with whom I share my life. For being such a wonderful
mother and making me a lucky wife. You raised him all these years with
tender love and care, created special memories which the both of you
now share. The day I married, I knew I was lucky, I found my husband,
then I got an added bonus, an extra special mom.
Love, Letty
Thank you for the laughter, the good times we share.
Thanks for always listening and for trying to be fair.
Thank you for your comfort when things are going bad.
Thank you for the shoulder to cry on when I’m sad.
You’re more than just my mother-in-law, you’re my friend too.
Everyone should be as blessed to have a mother-in-law like you.
Love your daughter-in-law, Stacy
We don’t need a special day to bring you to mind, the days we do not think of
you are very hard to find. Each morning when we awake, we know that you are
gone and no one knows the heartache as we try to carry on. Our hearts still
ache with sadness and secret tears still flow. What it meant to lose you, no one
will ever know. Our thoughts are always with you, your place no one can fill.
In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still.
Your three sons
