Obituary

Ms. Virginia Watson was born on August 7th, 1922 to Leathie McClain and Walter Watson in
Ebenezer, Mississippi. Virginia was the oldest of seven children born to this union. Viriginia was
known to many as “Ginny.”
Virginia confessed hope in Christ at the age of 12 years old in 1935. She confessed this hope at
Holy City M.B. Church in Holmes County, Mississippi, under the leadership of Rev. S.H. Jones.
After moving to Chicago, Virginia united with the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the
leadership of Pastor W.H. Daniels in April 1990. Virginia loved the Lord and kept the faith until
she took her last breath. Her daily scripture read was, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of
the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.” Psalm 23:4
Virginia attended Glassy Grove School in Ebenezer, Mississippi.
Virginia worked for Alden Clothing Manufacturing Company. She loved working with people and
was very talented and skillful. Her talents were Cosmetologist, Seamstress, and Fashion Designer.

on the telephone with all her family and friends. Most of all she loved all her Family dearly along
with everyone she met. Virginia was a giver. She loved giving to others, and never wanted any-
thing in return.
