Obituary for Willie "Preacher" Davis

Willie Davis was born on November 27, 1963 to Lurlean Davis and Clay
Young. He confessed in Christ at an early age. Willie grew up on Chicago’s
Westside in the Holy City and attended Theodore Marshall High School.
Willie or “Wine” as he was affectionately called was a caring and loving man
who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. If he loved you he
gave you a nickname. He was a quiet man, if he was upset you would never
know until he spoke to you personally and even then he never raised his
voice. He loved hard and was a strong believer in family. He tried to accomplish
unity among his family before he passed away; all he wanted was for us to love
each other as he loved us. His presence will be greatly missed.
Willie made his transition on June 1, 2020; he is preceded in death by his
mother, Lurlean Davis; three brothers, Albert Young, Sam McClain and Bryant
Davis; and three sisters, Barbara Davis, Samella Davis and Debra Davis.
He leaves to cherish his memory: A special love, his life partner, Regina; his
children, Monique, Shqualia, Shamira, Christopher, Anthony and Tyiesha and
Carol; fifteen grandchildren; his father, Clay Young; his siblings, Molly, Judy,
Keith, Carly, Craig, Herman, Dyane, Loretta, Marvin, Olivia, Eunice, Katrina,
Montreal and Kenny of Kansas; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends; and his best friend, his homie love, William Atki
