Obituary

WILLIE HYLES (lovingly known as “HOUSE”) was born on September 9, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois to the union
of Moses, Sr. and Ninner Hyles. He was the youngest of six children. Both Parents and three brothers: Oscar,
Milton and Moses, Jr. preceded him in death.
WILLIE was raised in a Christian home and at an early age confessed his belief and hope in Christ and was
baptized at Pleasant Grove M. B. Church under the leadership of Pastor W. D. Kirkland. He continued his
membership there under the leadership of Pastor Michael Runnels and currently Pastor Charles A. Hamilton until
his passing. He stayed in touch with a lot of members through the pandemic and was looking forward to
getting back physically to worship services.
WILLIE received his education through the Chicago Public Schools attending Bethune Elementary and graduated
from Collins Academy High School in 1979. While attending Collins, his pride and joy was playing on the
basketball team. After graduating he joined the coaching team at Collins and loved coaching the young
upcoming stars including his son DeKarrie. He loved sports and was very knowledgeable in all sports, but his
first love and favorite was basketball. He was also very involved in coaching through his son Brian’s high
school years of playing basketball.
WILLIE loved all types of music but his favorite artist was Luther Vandross. He also loved being around his
family and was always the life of the party at all gatherings, whether it was family, friends and even at church.
He never met a stranger.
Later in life WLLIE met Donna Love and they were married on March 6, 1998. To this union one son was born,
Brian. Even though their lives took them in different directions, they still remained good friends.
WILLIE’S employment took him down various avenues throughout his working career; from Replogle Globes,
Maverick Security, and H&M Railroad for seventeen (17) years. After leaving the railroad he went on to obtain
his CDL License and worked for Swift Transportation with his last job being Logan Trucking Company.
WILLIE’S legacy will live on through: His three (3) children: sons, Lamarr DeKarrie (Yolanda) of Jacksonville,
Florida and Brian of Chicago, Illinois; daughter, Daneshia of Chicago, Illinois; wife, Donna Love-Hyles; eight
grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Williams, Brenda Hyles and Gloria Hayes; four sisters-in-law, Gayle, Kim
(Bernard), Yolanda (Troy) and Sarah; one brother-in-law, Dorian; six aunts, Pernella Pugh, Ardella Hayes, Alice
Hayes, Velma Madison, Willetta Valentine and Everee Valentine; one uncle, Charles Valentine; sixteen nieces;
eight nephews; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends; a
very special love and friend, Marlean Thomas; special cousin, Trez Pugh; longtime special friends of over forty
years, Westley Spruill, Anthony Taylor and Chester McDaniel
